One Day We Won’t Need Women’s Shelters

We women need to do all we can to help other women whose lives are not as easy as our own. With every book we sell through our web sites, we give a portion to charitable causes.  And with this book, our hearts went out to women who have been abused so much they have to leave their homes, their families, their relationships and start over. Most of the time they stay in the abusive situation and put up with untold grief because there are other aspects of their lives that they don’t want to leave. But eventually, it comes down to survival.

These women are lucky in some areas that there are shelters to take them in from the storm. Sometimes they have to leave with just the clothing on their backs. I don’t know about you, but I cannot make my mind go to that image. I do know that I want to help as much as I can. And to that end, with the sale of each book on our web sites, we put aside a portion to go to support women’s shelters. We also have created an “add $2.00” button for you to add a wee bit to your purchase to also help. When you do this, we match your donation and add $1.00 – so that $5.00 goes to help women in need.

Our plans are to rotate the selected shelter every few months and you can help by doing several things. Please send us complete details of women’s shelters in your area who could use some assistance. We need a contact name so we can make sure it is all on the up and up. We’ll let you know when that shelter is the recipient and we’d appreciate it if you’d try to get as many sales as possible with your friends to maximize the contributions.
